Earlier this week, the e18 Innovation and Digital Workforce Services Plc teams hosted a brilliant Away Day for our NHS colleagues across the North East and Yorkshire. Held in Leeds, it brought together automation and transformation teams from across the region to connect, learn, and look ahead.
We kicked off with a welcome from the e18 team and an introduction to Digital Workforce – our new parent company – and it’s safe to say the energy in the room was immediate. There’s real excitement about what this new chapter means for our NHS clients, especially in how we can now bring even more capability, scale, and innovation to the table.
From there, we got stuck into the practical stuff:
Outpatient transformation stories showing how automation is helping tackle waiting list backlogs and streamline referral management.
Care pathway innovations with live case studies from Trusts already using automation to free up clinical time and improve patient flow.
A deep dive into AI agents and where they’re already being tested in NHS environments – not hype, but real examples of AI starting to support frontline staff.
An excellent group discussion on how important it is to use an ecosystem of different technologies, and the importance of choosing the right tools for the job to achieve the best value.
It wasn’t all presentations – we made sure there was plenty of time for honest discussion, peer learning, and good coffee. These conversations are where the magic happens: when people from different Trusts compare notes, challenge assumptions, and find common ground.
A big thank you to everyone who came and contributed so generously. The level of openness and engagement was the highlight – and a reminder of how strong collaboration is in this region.
